The Dura 5 and Dura 7 pumps deliver consistent performance regardless of the product type and are capable of delivering 5 or 7 bar in both the forward and reverse directions.

Sodium hypochlorite is often used to disinfect drinking water in municipal water supply companies and in the food industry. The use of chemicals helps prevent bacterial contamination. Unfortunately, during transport, sodium hypochlorite vapours block the chamber of diaphragm pumps. In order to compensate for the loss of performance, engineers are forced to install degassing valves and operate the pumps in an overcapacity mode. In some cases, additional water-ring vacuum pumps have to be used. All of this leads to excessive consumption of chemicals and an increase in the cost of the product.

The optimal solution, which also solves crystallisation problems, is the use of peristaltic pumps. Lime is a very common PH adjustment agent in the chemical industry, in waste treatment and in acidity management operations. Fine lime particles are abrasive and can permanently damage the rotor and stator of pumps. This also leads to excessive costs during production.

VERDERFLEX has many years of experience in solving such problems. The peristaltic pumps Dura 5 and Dura 7 are able to maintain their stability regardless of the flow rate. The advantage of hose pumps is the minimal impact on the pumped product, which reduces the amount of chemical flocculation. Conventional pumping solutions, on the other hand, often contribute to the formation of flake precipitates in the solution. Thus, peristaltic pumps, which provide high dosing accuracy, are the most advantageous for transporting chemicals.

An additional advantage is the real, not just the claimed, reversibility. The pressure generated by the pump during forward and reverse operation is exactly the same, whereas most pumps have power surges in reverse. The Dura 5 and Dura 7 peristaltic pumps are completely immune to the absence of liquid in the line and can run dry for long periods of time. The costly downtime caused by burnt-out stators can be forgotten forever. The pumps do not require additional equipment at the inlet and outlet, have a minimum of moving parts and have a long service life.
