The volume of air first squeezes out one diaphragm, thereby blocking the flow of liquid. Then it squeezes the other diaphragm, pushing the liquid out on one side and then sucking it in on the other. In a continuous compressed air supply process, the diaphragms and ball valves operate alternately. Pneumatic diaphragm pumps have a fluid flow rate dependence on the supply air pressure.
