Pumps for the chemical industry

Steiner Ukraine supplies industrial pumps for working with aggressive, viscous, abrasive and toxic environments typical for chemical production. We select equipment taking into account the temperature, pressure, corrosive activity and explosion hazard of the environments, ensuring uninterrupted operation of enterprises.

What we pump

  • Acids and alkalis (sulphuric, nitric, hydrochloric acid, NaOH, KOH)
  • Organic solvents (ethanol, methanol, toluene, acetone)
  • Suspensions and slurries with abrasive particles
  • Polymer solutions, resins, adhesives
  • Washing and neutralising solutions
  • Wastewater and effluent containing chemical impurities

Types of pumps for chemical production

Magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps

Sealed designs without gland seals. Eliminate leaks of toxic or explosive liquids and reduce maintenance requirements.

Diaphragm (membrane) pumps

Compatible with aggressive reagents, abrasive suspensions and viscous liquids. Available in PTFE, PVDF and PP.

Screw pumps

Stable delivery of viscous and shear-sensitive fluids: resins, adhesives, polymer emulsions. Operate without pulsation, ensuring precise pressure.

Peristaltic pumps

Only the hose elastomer comes into contact with the medium. Ideal for aggressive acids, alkalis, slurries, dosing flocculants and reagents.

Plunger and diaphragm-plunger metering pumps

High-precision dosing of reagents, catalysts, corrosion inhibitors, biocides. Operation under high pressure and aggressive liquids.

Processes where pumps are used

  • Raw material stage — feeding acids, alkalis, solvents into reactors
  • Synthesis — circulation and pumping of reaction mixtures
  • Cleansing — filtration of suspensions, washing
  • Dosage — introduction of reagents, additives
  • Disposal — pumping of waste and wastewater

Materials and workmanship

  • Housings made of stainless steel, Hastelloy alloys, titanium, polymers (PVDF, PP, PTFE)
  • Mechanical seals, gland seals or magnetic couplings
  • ATEX compliance for potentially explosive atmospheres
  • Compatibility with CIP/SIP and automation systems

Advantages of Steiner Ukraine solutions

  • Safety — solution with complete sealing and leak control
  • Stability — selection of materials for aggressive and abrasive environments
  • Energy efficiency — optimisation of the operating point, frequency control
  • Service — spare parts, scheduled maintenance, staff training
  • Documentation — technical passports, instructions, certificates (Library)
